AI-native design system

Principal Product Designer, TBWA\Chiat\Day

A design system built by hand doesn't scale. Every new button state is an hour somebody has to spend, instead of an hour spent on the design decision that actually needed a person.

CHALLENGE

Token creation, variable management, and component variants (default, disabled, hover, and everything between) were eating hours that should have gone to design decisions.

SOLUTION

I connected Figma to Claude through MCP and built a pipeline that generates tokens, variables, and full variant sets automatically. The same workflow now handles accessibility testing, animation, and real-time feedback as the system evolves. Alongside it, I built a generative tool that produces on-brand imagery for the product, food ingredients and dishes, with a preset library and free-prompt creation. The client now runs it on their own.

What used to take a day now takes about ten minutes. Two AI tools, built from scratch on one engagement. That's what I mean by AI-native.

Looking for a Principal role or fractional design leadership. Glad to talk if something sounds like a fit.
